The Changing Face of Usability Testing: Optimal Workshop Releases Free Service Called Treejack
Treejack, a free service provided by New Zealand company, Optimal Workshop, gives users a program that could eventually replace their usability consultants. Treejack provides a web-based product to test mockups, usability, navigation, and site architecture.
Treejack, is aimed at websites with a lot of content. It tests information architecture with end users in the form of an online survey and helps designers answer questions to guide the website design to be user friendly.
Right now this product is completely free, however, Optimal Workshop plans to begin charging for the service within the next two months. Users will have the option to remain with a basic version that will still be free of charge and users will be given plenty of notice before they will be charged for using Treejack.
